Ferries from Piraeus take 7–9 hours (or 5h high-speed). Also accessible from Naxos (2–3h). A car or ATV is useful for exploring — the island is long and narrow. The bus connects Katapola, Chora, and Aegiali.
June–September is the active season. July–August is peak; book 2–3 months ahead. September is ideal for hiking with cooler temperatures. Ferry connections are less frequent than to bigger islands.
